Some homes are still holding open houses… though don’t be surprised if your next open house experience seems a little different from what you’re used to. For one, you may need to book an appointment before visiting the house rather than just walking in. This ensures that there are a limited number of people in the house at one time. You may also have to sign a waiver, use hand sanitizers, and wear gloves and a mask before entering the house to prevent the spread of germs.
Sellers are also relying more on photos of their house to pique the interest of potential buyers. Posting photos has always been critical when selling a house, but in this time of social distancing, having a large quantity of good photos – and even 360-degree photos – is more important than ever.
Virtual tours are also being held, allowing buyers to see a house from the comfort of their own current home. Video and 3D tours provide a clearer sense of the size, spacing and layout of a place. It’s an excellent way to show off your home to those who can’t be there in person.
